While walking down the street today, directly in front of me, fell a feather. It was floating out of the sky in true cinema form… in slow motion, shifting from left to right until it landed right at my feet.
You may be wondering why I would be so delighted by this event! Simply put, I was in need of a shift.
Let me explain… I was once told that feathers find you at times when you need guidance and healing in your life. That whenever you come across one, you should always take notice… either by picking it up or giving thanks and acknowledging that it’s a message from a higher source. (other than a bird)
So, for extra emphasize I chose to do both. As, I bent over to pick it up I yelled out “feather” as if I just hit an untamable golf ball and every innocent bystander better duck for cover.
While still under my unconscious buzz, I tried to focus on what my main dilemma was, what was the message it was bring to my attention. The word FAITH started flashing like a neon signs down the Vegas strip! I needed to remember to “keep the faith” (insert George Michaels song here)
FAITH ~ To have trust, hope and belief in the goodness, trustworthiness or reliability of a person, concept, or entity. It can also refer to beliefs that are not based on proof.
Now, I would love to sit here and broadcast that I am so rooted in Faith that fear never gets the best of me. But, that would be a lie. Periodically, I do get overwhelmed and caught up with my own “mental chatter”. I can get wrapped up in the negativity the doubting, questioning, and second guessing myself and others can bring about…and it can be paralyzing if left in command for too long.
Which brings me back to the feather or shall I declare “my compass”!
No matter where we are mentally, emotionally or physically we all need something that pulls us back on course when we get derailed.
Be it a sign (like my feather), or a song, (like George Michael), or a word, a meditation, an affirmation or a good ol’ look in the mirror!
Something that acts as a lifeline when we find ourselves drowning in the riptide of doubt!
So, take a moment and ask yourself. What’s my compass?
Love Tokens for today:
- I trust in the flow and process of life and I am safe.
- As I challenge my fears, I am strengthened and empowered
- I choose to release myself from all destructive thought patterns
